Have you got a an ebook idea buzzing around in your brain? If so, then you might as well get started now, because that ebook needs to be written but if you have no idea, then you will want to start by picking a good niche. Picking a niche is a twofold process. First, you need to pick a topic which you can write well about. It should be interesting to you, either because you have experience in that area, or because it is something you want to try for yourself.

ClickBank is one of the largest affiliate platforms (i.e. Places where people put their ebooks up for sale). In the ClickBank Marketplace you will see a list of Categories, and when you click on a Category, you will see sub-categories. Pick out the ones which you can relate to. There is a tool which will tell you how much interest there is in a particular topic. It is called the. This tool will help you to see if there is much demand, or much competition, for your niche. For example, if you were thinking of writing about natural cat flea control, you could do a search on that phrase, and see how much competition you would have, and how many monthly global searches there are for that keyword.
